இந்திய பணத்திற்கு புதிய குறியீடு ; இனி Rs. கிடையாது !

உலக அளவில் உள்ள நாட்டு பணத்தை குறிக்கும் வகையில் பல்வேறு குறியீடுகள் இருப்பது போல் இந்திய கரன்சிக்கும் புதிய குறியீடு அறிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இனிமேல் இந்திய பணத்திற்கு இந்த குறியீடுதான் பயன்படுத்தப்படும். இந்த ரூபாய் அடையாள குறியீட்டுக்கு அமைச்சரவை ஒப்புதல் வழங்கியுள்ளது. இந்த விஷயம் குறித்து மத்திய தகவல் மற்றும் ஒளிபரப்பு துறை அமைச்சர் அம்பிகாசோனி டில்லியில் நிருபர்களிடம் தெரிவித்தார்.


சர்வதேச கரன்சிகளான அமெரிக்க டாலருக்கு $ , யூரோவுக்கு €, பவுண்டுக்கு (ப) , ஜப்பான் யென் ஆகிய அடையாள குறியீடு இருப்பது போல இந்திய ரூபாய்க்கும் அடையாள குறியீடு வழங்கப்பட மத்திய அரசு முடிவு எடுத்தது. இதன்படி அடையாள குறியீடு போட்டி ஒன்றும் நாடு முழுவதும் நடந்தது. இதில் போட்டியாளர்கள் தங்களுடைய கற்பனை திறத்தை வெளிக்காட்ட வாய்ப்பு வழங்கப்பட்டன. 5 மாதிரிகள் தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்டு உதயகுமார் என்பவரது படைப்பு ஏற்று கொள்ளப்பட்டன.


இந்திய ரூபாய்க்கு தனிச் சின்னம் கொடுத்த உதயகுமார் தமிழகத்தைச் சேர்ந்தவர். இவரது பூர்வீகம் தஞ்சாவூர். அக்டோபர் 10, 1978ம் ஆண்டு பிறந்த இவர் சென்னை அண்ணா பல்க‌லைக் கழகத்தில் பி டெக் படித்தார். பின்னர் மும்பை ஐ.ஐ.டி.,யில் பட்ட மேற்படிப்பு முடித்தார். இன்று முதல் உதயகுமார் கவுகாத்தி ஐ.ஐ.டி., யில் துணை விரிவுரையாளராக பணியாற்றவிருக்கிறார்.

இனி இந்திய ரூபாய் மற்றும் காய்ன்களில் இந்த முத்திரை பதிக்கப்பட்டு வெளி வரும். உலக அளவில் இந்த முத்திரையே பயன்படுத்தப்படும். இனி ஆர். எஸ், ஆர்.இ., என்று போட வேண்டியிருக்காது. இந்த குறியீட்டை போட்டாலே போதுமானது. ஆங்கிலத்தில் ஆர் என்ற எழுத்தின் பாதியில் அதன் மீது இரண்டு கோடுகள் போட்டது போன்று இருக்கிறது. இந்தியில் “ ர “ என்பது போலவும் இருக்கிறது.


ரூ. 2. 5 லட்சம் பரிசு : தமிழில் ரூ. 100 என்றோ , 100 ரூபாய் என்றோ எழுத வேண்டியிருக்காது. ஆங்கிலத்தில் ஆர்.எஸ்., என்று போட வேண்டாம். இந்த குறியீட்டை போட்டாலே போதும். இந்த குறியீட்டை உருவாக்கிய ஐ.ஐ.டி., படித்த உதயகுமார் என்பவருக்கு அரசு 2. 5 லட்சம் பரிசுத்தொகையாக வழங்கும். இந்த குறியீடு இந்திய கலாச்சாரத்தை குறிக்கும் வகையில் இருப்பதாக மத்திய நிதி அமைச்சர் பிரணாப் முகர்ஜி கூறியுள்ளார்.


என்ன இனிமேல் தயாராகும் கம்ப்யூட்டர்களின் கீ போர்டில் இந்த பட்டன் வைக்க வேண்டியதுதான் அடுத்த வேலையாக இருக்கும்.

Most of the international countries have there own currency symbol like $ (US Dollar), £ (Great Britain pound), € (Euro), ¥ (Japanese Yen), etc etc. There is no official or special symbol for our Indian currency. Generally we use Rs., or INR, or रु or रुपया (Hindi) to represent the Indian rupees.

இந்திய ரூபாய் குறியீடு வடிவமைத்ததன் மூலம் தமிழகத்துக்குப் பெருமை சேர்த்துள்ளார் டி.​ உதயகுமார்.​ ​

சர்வதேச அளவில் இந்திய நாணயத்துக்குப் பெருமை சேர்க்கும் வகையில் குறியீடு அமைய வேண்டும் என்றும் உரிய டிசைனை அனுப்பலாம் என மத்திய அரசு அறிவித்திருந்தது.​ சுமார் 3 ஆயிரத்துக்கும் அதிகமானோர் வடிவமைப்பை அனுப்பியிருந்தனர்.​ இதில் 5 வடிவங்களை ரிசர்வ் வங்கி துணை கவர்னர் உஷா தோரட் தலைமையிலான குழு தேர்வு செய்தது.​ இதில் உதயகுமார் அனுப்பிய வடிவமைப்பு ஏற்றுக் கொள்ளப்பட்டது.​ இதற்கு மத்திய அமைச்சரவை வியாழக்கிழமை ஒப்புதல் அளித்தது.​ ​

திருவண்ணாமலை மாவட்டத்தைச் சேர்ந்த உதயகுமார் இப்போது குவாஹாட்டியில் உள்ள ஐஐடி-யில் துணைப் பேராசிரியராகப் பணியாற்றி வருகிறார்.​ வடிவமைப்பு சார்ந்த படிப்பு முதல் முறையாக இந்த ஐஐடி-யில்தான் தொடங்கப்பட்டது.

​ அண்ணா பல்கலைக் கழகத்தில் பொறியியலில் வடிவமைப்பு பிரிவில் பட்டம் பெற்ற ​ மும்பை ஐஐடி-யின் முன்னாள் மாணவராவார்.​ ​

ஓராண்டுக்கு முன்பு இந்த வடிவமைப்பை உருவாக்கி அளித்ததாகவும்,​​ இப்போது தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளதாகவும் மகிழ்ச்சி ததும்பக் குறிப்பிடுகிறார் உதயகுமார்.​ இந்த வடிவமைப்பின் மூலம் இவருக்கு பெரும் புகழும் ரூ.​ 2.5 லட்சம் ரொக்கப் பரிசும் கிடைத்துள்ளது.

இவர் தமிழ் எழுத்து வடிவ வளர்ச்சி குறித்த ஆராய்ச்சி ​(பிஹெச்டி)​ கட்டுரையையும் தாக்கல் செய்துள்ளார்.​

இந்தக் கட்டுரையும் இவருக்குப் புகழைத் தேடித் தரும் என உறுதியாக நம்புகிறார் இவரது தந்தை தர்மலிங்கம்.​ இவர் ரிஷிவந்தியம் தொகுதியின் திமுக முன்னாள் சட்டப் பேரவை உறுப்பினராவார்.

சர்வதேச அளவில் இனி இந்திய ரூபாய் என்றாலே எல்லோருக்கும் நினைவில் வரக்கூடிய இந்த வடிவமைப்பை ஒரு தமிழர் உருவாக்கியிருப்பது தமிழ்நாட்டுக்கே பெருமை சேர்ப்பதாகும்.

​ குறியீடு வடிவமைப்பில் இறுதிச் சுற்றுக்குத் தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்ட மற்ற நான்கு பேருக்கும் தலா ரூ.​ 25 ஆயிரம் ஆறுதல் பரிசு அளிக்கப்படும் என மத்திய அரசு அறிவித்துள்ளது.

குறியீடு பெற்றதன் மூலம் அமெரிக்காவின் டாலர்,​​ பிரிட்டனின் பவுண்ட்,​​ ஜப்பானின் யென் மற்றும் ஐரோப்பாவின் யூரோ கரன்சிகளுக்கு அடுத்தபடியாக இந்திய ரூபாயும் இடம்பெறும்.

the unique sign will also help isolate the currency from the current abbreviation ‘Rs’ which is used by neighbouring Pakistan, Nepal and Sri Lanka.

The winning designers concept was based on the Tricolour and “arithmetic equivalence”. While the white space between the two horizontal lines gives the impression of the national flag with the Ashok Chakra, the two bold parallel lines stand for ‘equals to’, representing balance in the economy, both within and with other economies of the world. The winning designer is an IIT post-graduate D Udaya Kumar.

CNN-IBN: Can you please explain to what it (the symbol) actually means?


D Udaya Kumar: I have given a lot of thought to this design. It is basically based on the letter 'ra' in Devnagri script. In that, I have just added a strikethrough line to represent Indian flag. And since I have incorporated the Devnagri script, it represents the Indianness of it because the top-line is quite unique and is not found in any other script. I have also tried to incorporate the Roman script 'R' within it for it to have an international appeal.

It is a perfect blend of Indian and Roman letters capital ‘R’ and Devanagri ‘Ra’ which represents rupaiah.Cabinet will decide on the matter on Thursday and is likely to approve a symbol reflecting the Hindi alphabet standing for ‘R’, which reflect India’s ethos and culture.
